Background: I started off as a wrestler and became serious after loosing about 20 or 30 pounds in highschool. I finished my wrestling season my senior year of high school after a disappointing state run. In march of 2008 I began training at a small gym in Benton Harbor Michigan and began my progression of training starting off as an amateur and ending with 12 wins and 1 loss. I am now 4-0 as a pro and training at the Minnesota Martial Arts Academy under Greg Nelson.
Reason you fight: Ever since I can remember I have competed in a sport whether it was t-ball, football, or more influential to my current career, wrestling. This drive to be the best has always inspired me to work hard and as I got older I soon became less fond of team sports because of the simple fact that most people did not care if we won or lost like I did. I began wrestling in 2003 at which time I was in 8th grade, it was at this time that I began to realize that this was a much better fit for me than the team sports I had previously taken part in. After a few years in wrestling I began to watch TUF season one and before this I would watch different mma events but never really thought that this sport could be availible to me. I soon heard talk around school that there was a gym near by that I could go to and learn basic skills and even do different fights. I loved it after my first day. After my first fight, about 2 months later, I decided that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I love the sound of the crowd and the fact that I have so much control over what goes on in that cage. One day my hard work will pay off to create a better life for myself and for those around me.
